CRIPTOMÉTRIA
Nome comum dado ao gênero Cryptomeria, pertencente à família Pinaceae, e incluído na subfamília Cupressaceae, de uma única espécie C. japonica Don.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é originária da China e Japão e introduzida no sul do Brasil há mais de 100 anos. Apresenta porte piramidal, elegante, formando bela árvore, de folhagem angular disposta espiraladamente à volta dos caules. Ela é utilizada como árvore de parques e jardins, por ser ornamental e sempre verde, por isso é utilizada como árvore-de-Natal.
