CURUÁ-AÇU
Palmeira da família Palmae, da espécie Attalea amygdalina H.B.K. (Attalea nucifera Karst.; Attalea inaequalis Hort.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela habita vasta região da América do Sul, desde os sopés dos Andes na Colômbia até a Amazônia brasileira. Ela é acaule de folhas muito grandes, eretas, com até 6 m de comprimento. Fruto drupa ovoide, do tamanho de um ovo grande, contendo várias amêndoas moídas comestíveis.

Note 1 and 2: It is found in a large area of South America, from the foot of the Andes in Colombia until the Brazilian Amazonia. It has no stem with big and straight leaves reaching 6m of length. The fruit is an oval drupe of the size of a big egg with several edible nuts.
