CURUÁ-PITANGA
Planta da família Palmae, da espécie Orbignya spectabilis (Mart.) Burret. (A. macoupi Sagot).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela ocorre no Pará, especialmente nas margens do Rio Negro. Ela é acaule, os pecíolos, a raque e as margens dos folíolos são vermelho-tomentosos. Fruto drupa pequena, elipsoide, de 1-3 esperma, de amêndoa oleaginosa (56%); o óleo, após refinado, serve para cozinha.

Note 1 and 2: It occurs in Pará state, especially in the banks of Negro River. It has no stem , the petioles, the rack and the folicle margins are tomentose red. The fruit is a small elipsoid drupe of 1-3 sperms, of an oil nut (56%). Its oil after refined can be used for cooking.
