Árvore da família Myrtaceae, da espécie Stenocalyx dysentericus Berg. (Eugenia dysenterica DC., Myrtus dysenterica M.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é uma espécie típica do cerrado, conhecida desde a Bahia até São Paulo, Minas Gerais e Goiás; Ela é regular, com ramos tortuosos e suberosos; As suas folhas são opostas, curtopecioladas, ovado-oblongas, luzidias, as adultas coriáceas e as novas transparentes; As suas flores são brancas, grandes, solitárias; O seu fruto é baga globoso-achatada, amarelo-pálida, sucosa, muito apreciada, e quando submetida à fermentação, produzem vinagre e álcool, e antes da maturação são também forrageiros, contendo 1-3 sementes brancas envoltas em polpa acidulada; Ela fornece madeira para pequenas obras de construção civil, mourões, lenha e carvão; A sua casca serve para a indústria de curtume.

Note 1 and 2: It is a species tipical of the savana, known since Bahia until São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Goiás states. It is regular, with tortuous and cork-like branches. Its leaves are opposed, short-petiolated, egg-shaped, oblong, shining, the adult ones are leathery and the new transparent. Its flowers are white, big and solitary. Its fruit is a globe-lie and plane, pale-yellow, juicy, very appreciated berry that when put on fermentation produce vinegar and alcohol and before maturing are used as fodder, containing 1-3 white seeds that are wrapped in an acidified pulp. Its wood can be used for small works, civil construction, rulers, firewood and coal. Its bark can be used for tannery industry.
