Arbusto da família Polygalaceae, da espécie Moutabea aculeata Poepp (Moutabea acostae Rowm. & Schult.; Acosta aculeata R & P).
Nota 1 e 2: Ele é amazônico, mas nativo também das Guianas e Peru; Ele tem uma larga fronde, sarmentos, de ramos recobertos de espinhos. As suas folhas são elíptico-oblongas, muito coriáceas; as suas flores são brancas, sem perfume; o seu fruto é baga globosa, de 3,5 cm de diâmetro, obtusamente apiculada, com uma polpa amarela comestível.

Note 1 and 2: It is an Amazonian plant, but it is native from the Guianas and Peru. It has a large frond, long twigs and branches covered with thorns. Its leaves are elliptical-oblong, very leathery. Its flowers are White and don’t have perfume; its fruit is a round berry with 3.5 cm of diameter, with an obtuse point, with an edible pulp.
