Árvore da família Anacardiaceae, da espécie Spondias lutea L.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela ocorre desde a Amazônia até São Paulo e Minas Gerais, sendo cultivada também na Bahia. Ela é grande e muito frondosa, de caule reto, até 25m de altura; casca acinzentada ou brancacenta, espessa e assaz fendida de propriedade adstringente e emética; fruto pequeno e comestível cuja polpa é útil para refrescos, sorvetes e licores.

Note 1 and 2: It occurs from Amazonia until São Paulo and Minas Gerais states and it is cultivated in Bahia. It is tall and branchy, straight trunk reaching until 25 m of height; its bark is kind of gray or white, thick and very chipped that has astringent and emetic properties; its fruit is a small edible drupe whose pulp can be used to make drinks, icecream and liquers.
