Árvore da família Anacardiaceae, da espécie Anacardium giganteum Hancock.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela ocorre na Amazônia, Maranhão, Bahia, Minas Gerais e Mato Grosso. Ela é alta, podendo atingir 25m ou mais; folhas simples, glabras na página superior e pubescentes na inferior, sendo igualmente verdes as da base das inflorescências; flores dispostas em grandes panículas; fruto drupa com pedúnculo vermelho-escuro, carnoso, adstringente, acidulado, raras vezes doce, comestível.

It is tall reaching 25 m or more of height; its leaves are simple, white in the superior and pubescent in the inferior page and green in the inflorescence base; its flowers are disposed in big panicules; its fruit is an edible drupe with a dark red penducle that is fleshy, adstringent and bitter sweet.
