Árvore da família Anacardiaceae, da espécie Anacardium occidentale L.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é habitante dos campos e das dunas da costa norte, hoje espalhada por toda a América tropical e pelas Antilhas. Ela tem caule geralmente tortuoso e baixo, às vezes reto e alto, conforme a natureza do terreno. A casca é adstringente, usada em banhos contra edemas dos membros e também em loções e gargarejos contra aftas e inflamações de garganta.

Note 1 and 2: It is native of the fields and dunes of the nort coast of Brazil, and today it has widespread all over the tropical America and Antilles.Its stem is generally twisted and low but sometimes is straight and high according to the level of the terrain. The bark is adstringent used for baths against limb edemas and for lotions and cleaser against mouth and throat sores.
