Árvore da família Anacardiaceae, da espécie Anacardium negrense Pires & Froes.
Nota 1 e 2: Ele é conhecido em estado silvestre, no alto rio Negro e no rio Uapés, no Amazonas. Ele pode chegar a 15 m de altura, de tronco grosso e copa que se esparrama, tocando muitas vezes o solo.Ele não dá pseudofruto, mas as castanhas, após torradas, são muito aprecidadas pelos indígenas, porque se conservam por longo tempo, sem se estragarem.
A tree of the family Anacardiaceae, of the species Anacardium negrense Pires & Froes.
Note 1 and 2: It is wildly found in the high side of Negro River and in Uapés River in Amazonas. It can reach until 15 m of height, the trunk is thick and the canopy can spread itself reaching the ground. It does not produce any pseudofruits, but the nuts after been toasted are highly appreciated by the Indians because they can be stored for a long period without spoiling.
