Arbusto da família Berberidaceae, da espécie Berberis ruscifolia Lam.
Nota 1 e 2: Ele ocorre no Rio Grande do Sul. Ele é lenhoso, de até 2m de altura, de ramos numerosos, armados de acúleos. O fruto é baga indeiscente, do tamanho de uma ervilha, preta com reflexos azulados, comestíveis, mas de sabor um tanto amargo.

A shrub of the family Berberidaceae, of the species Berberis ruscifolia Lam.
Note 1 and 2: It is frequently found in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. It is woody, reaching until 2m of height, and several armed branches. The fruit is an indeiscent drupe of the size of a pea, black with tonalities of blue, edible but of a sour taste.
