Arbusto da família Melastomataceae, da espécie Leandra scabara DC. (Leandra curassana Cogn.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ele é típico do Brasil Central, nas florestas frescas de Minas Gerais ao Rio Grande do Sul. Seu fruto é globuloso, apiculado, com 4-5 mm de diâmetro, comestível, mas pobre de sabor que produz baguinhas édulas que tingem a boca de roxo-escuro.

A shrub of the family Melastomataceae of the species Leandra scabara DC. (Leandra carassana Cogn.).
Note 1 and 2: It is typical of the central Brazil, in the fresh woods of Minas Gerais until Rio Grande do Sul. Its fruit is globulous, pointed, with 4-5 mm of diameter, edible but of poor taste that produces berries that dye the mouth purple when the fruit is eaten.
