CAMBARÁ-DE-ESPINHO
Planta herbácea ou arbustiva da família Verbenaceae, da espécie Lantana camara L.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela tem incidência em todo o Brasil, pode atingir até 2,0 m de altura. Possui ramos quadrangulares, com espinhos arqueados; folhas opostas, oblongas ou ovaladas, redondas na base, serreadas, rugosas, aromáticas, espessas, de superificie superior áspera e inferior branca ou descolorida, pecíolos curtos, aculeados ou não. É ornamental devido a beleza de suas flores, que são pequenas e se dispõem em capítulos de cor primeiramente amarelo-ouro e depois laranja, rósea ou vermelho, sendo estas largamente cultivadas. A planta cresce espontaneamente em terrenos baldios e pastagens, podendo ser considerada uma planta daninha. Ela também pode ser considerada tóxica ao gado.

Note 1 and 2: It occurs all over Brazil. It reaches up to 2 m of height. It has quadrangular branches, with arched thorns, opposite leaves, oblong or oval, round in its basis, serrated, wrinkled, aromatic and thick. The superior surface of the leaves is rough and the inferior surface is white or colorless, the leaves have short petioles that may be aculeate or not. Its ornamental character is due to the beauty of its flowers. It is largely cultivated. It grows spontaneously in vacant lands and in pastures, it may be considered a weed and toxic for cattle. Vulgarization: wild-sage, red-sage, white-sage, tickberry.
