CAMBUÍ-PRETO-DA-RESTINGA
Arbusto da família Myrtaceae, da espécie Myrciaria tenella Berg. (Eugenia tenella Mart.; Myrtus tenella Mart.). A espécie possui 5 variedades: ellyptica, glazioviana, macrocarpa, minor, spathulata.
Nota 1 e 2: Ele é encontrado na região compreendida entre os estados da Bahia e do Rio Grande do Sul, incluindo Minas Gerais. Ele atinge até 6 metros de altura, raminhos pubescentes, folhas opostas, oblongo-elípticas ou obtuso-ovadas, rígidas, luzidas, pelúcido-pontoadas, pubescentes na fase jovem e que se tornam glabras depois; flores axilares, praticamente sésseis, pequenas, em profusão, brancas, 4 pétalas e 4 sépalas, perfumadas. Fruto baga carnuda, globosa, roxa quase preta, de polpa vermelha envolvendo 1-2 sementes, com travo de adstringência, mas comestível.

Note 1 and 2: It is found in the region between the states of Bahia and Rio Grande do Sul, including the state of Minas Gerais. It reaches up to 6 meters of height, it has small and pubescent branches; its leaves are opposite, oblong-elliptic or obtuse-ovate, rigid, radiant, hairy and punctuated, pubescent in the young stage, that become glabrous when older; it has axillary flowers that are practically sessile, small and white, with 4 petals and 4 sepals, both fragrant. Its fruits are fleshy and globular berries, which are purple (almost black) and have a pulp, with 1 or 2 seeds. The berries have an astringent tang taste but they are edible.
