CANELA-AMARELA
Árvore da família Lauraceae, da espécie Nectandra puberula Nees (Nectandra lanceolata Nees).
Nota 1 e 2: Occorre de Alagoas até Santa Catarina, aparecendo também nos estados de Mato Grosso e Goiás, sendo própria da floresta pluvial. A árvore tem entre 10 e 20 metros de altura, ramos curtamente pubérulos nas pontas e mais ou menos angulosos; casca cinza, manifestamente sulcada; folhas lanceoladas, acuminadas, finamente coriáceas; pecíolo levemente caniculado, puberulo, 10-15 mm, panículas piramidais, axilares e puberulentas, 6-10 cm; ramos laterais 10-15 mm; flores tríades; pedúnculos com 3-5 mm, flores alvas e perfumadas; fruto globoso, 10-15 mm de diâmetro circunscrito, cúpula plana. Sua madeira é amarelo-pardacenta-clara, uniforme, superfície lisa e pouco lustrosa, moderadamente dura e pesada, compacta; durabilidade boa. Empregada em construções, tabuados, ripados, mourões, estacas e dormentes.

Note 1 and 2: It occurs from the state of Alagoas to the state of Santa Catarina but it also appears in the states of Mato Grosso and Goiás, the tree is typic of the rainforest. The tree has between 10 and 20 meters of height; branches shortly puberulos in the tips and approximately angular. The bark has a grey colouration and it is clearly grooved. The leaves are lanceolate, acuminate and finely coriaceous; the petiole is slightly channeled, piles (puberulus) with 10-15 mm; pyyramydal, axillary and hairy panicles, 6-10 cm; lateral branches 10-15 mm; triad flowers; peduncles with 3-5 mm; whitish and fragrant flowers. The fruit is round; it has a flattened summit and a circumscribed diameter of 10-15 mm. Its wood is yellow-brownish-clear, uniform, smooth and little glossy, moderately thick and moderately heavy, with a good durability. It is used in constructions, laths, posts, stakes, and railway tracks.
