Árvore da família Lauraceae, da espécie Nectandra myriantha Meissn.
Nota 1 e 2: Ocorre da Bahia até Santa Catarina e nos estados de Minas Gerais e Goiás. Ela pode atingir 30 m de altura (no cerrado até 8 m) e 60-80 cm de diâmetro (30-40 cm no cerrado); possui râmulos cilíndrico-angulosos, nas extremidades achatados, robustos, casca rígida e irregular pardo-avermelhada de 5-10 mm; folhas tipicamente obovadas, largas, com ápice arredondado, panículas frouxas e axilares, situadas abaixo das folhas apicais. Possui pedúnculos longos (de até 10 cm), flores tríades, as quais são poucos pilosas por fora e abundantemente por dentro, florescendo em julho-setembro. O fruto é elipsoide com cerca de 15 mm de comprimento, cúpula quase plana, estreita. Madeira amarelo-pardacenta, lisa, compacta, fétida quando fresca, grandemente durável e resistente à umidade. Ela é apropriada para usos em construção naval, canoas, vigas, esteios, postes e marcenaria.

Note 1 and 2: It occurs from the state of Bahia until the state of Santa Catarina and in the states of Minas Gerais and Goiás. It can reach up to 30 of height (8m in the cerrado) and 60-80 cm of diameter (30-40 in the cerrado). It has little and cilyndrical-angular branches, which are flattened in the edges and robust; the bark is rigid, irregular and brown-reddish, with 5-10 mm; the leaves are typically obovate, wide, with a round apex; loose and axillary panicles, which are located underneath the apical leaves. It has long peduncles (reaching 10 cm); triad flowers, which are externally little hairy and, internally, profusely hairy, flourishing in July-September. The fruit has an ellipsoid shape with, on average, 15 cm of length, and an almost-flat cupule, which is close. Its brown-yellow wood is smooth, compact, malodorous when fresh, greatly durable and resistent to humidity. It is appropriate for shipbuilding, canoes, beams, stakes and carpentry activities.
