Árvore da família Sapotaceae, da espécie Richardella nervosa Pierre (Bumelia nervosa Vahl.; Lucuma nervosa A. DC.; Pouteria campechiana (H.B.K) Baehni.; Vitellaria nervosa Radlk.; Vitellaria tenuifolia Engl.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é nativa das Antilhas, no Brasil a espécie é encontrada em pomares domésticos, sendo que seus frutos são confundidos com os de outras espécies da mesma família. Ela atinge até 20 m de altura; folhas simples, inteiras, verde luzidias, reunidas no ápice das ramas, pecioladas, oblongas para lanceoladas, agudas, medindo de 6 a 25 cm de comprimento; inflorescência em fascículos de 2-5 flores insertos na madeira nova, na axila das folhas caídas, hermafroditas, pequenas, verde-pálidas para brancas. O fruto baga polimorfo, variável no sabor também, via de regra, de ápice acuminado. É consumido ao natural ou na forma de compotas, salada de frutas; a polpa tem gosto de sui generis. A propagação é feita geralmente por sementes, mas povoamentos uniformes têm de ser formados por propagação vegetativa.

Note 1 and 2: It is native of the Antilles, in Brazil, the species is found in domestic orchards and its fruits are confused with some belonging to other species of the same family.. It reaches up to 20 m of height. The leaves are simple, entire, green gleaming leaves, gathered in the apex of the branches, petiolated, oblong-lanceolate, acute, measuring between 6 and 25 cm of length; the inflorescence occurs in fascicles of 2-5 flowers, inserted in the new wood, in the axile of the fallen leaves, hermaphrodite, small and with a colouration varying from the pale-green to the white. The fruit is a polymorphous berry, whose flavor varies, and generally, it has an acuminate apex. It is consumed in natura or in compotes and fruit salads, the pulp has a sui generis taste. The propagation is generally done via seeds, but uniform populations have to be formed by vegetative propagation.
