Planta herbácea da família Asteraceae, das espécies Erechtites valerianaefolia DC. e Erechtites hieracifolia (L.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é encontrada em todo o Brasil, nas regiões litorâneas. Cresce até 2 m de altura e ocorre em terrenos recém-desbravados e ricos em matéria orgânica, onde se torna indesejável em culturas anuais. Vegeta com maior intensidade no inverno.

Note 1 and 2: It is found all over Brazil, in coastal areas. It reaches up to 2 m of height and it occurs in the recent-opened fields that are full of organic matter, where it becomes inderisable in annual cultures. It vegetates with greater intensity during the winter.
