Planta da família Poaceae, da espécie Eragrostis curvula Ness.
Nota 1 e 2: Ele é originário da África foi introduzido no Brasil. Ele é perene, de pequeno porte, forma touceiras densas, constituídas de colmos muito finos e folhas estreitas. A inflorescência é uma panícula ereta, com a parte apical inclinada, e racemos ascendentes, em geral ramificados, com espiguetas agrupadas. Ele se adapta em diferentes altitudes e cresce bem em solos pobres ou arenosos, além de ser resistente a seca devido a profundidade de suas raízes. É uma forrageira de qualidade mediana, sendo cultivada para cobrir o solo e evitar a erosão, também é cultivada como planta ornamental na beira de estradas.

Note 1 and 2: It is native of Asia and it was introduced in Brazil. It is perennial and small; it forms dense tussocks, consisting of thin stalks and narrow leaves. The inflorescence is an erect panicle, whose the apical part is inclined, and ascendant racemes, on average, ramified, with gathered spikelets. It adaptts itself in different altitudes and grows quite well in poor or sandy soils, furthermore, due to the depth of its roots, it is very resistant to drought. It is a median quality forage, that is why, aside from being used for this purpose, it is also employed to cover the soils (avoidind erosion) and as an ornamental plant on the edge of the roads. Vulgarization: Boer lovegrass, curved lovegrass, African lovegrass.
