Nota 1 e 2: Ele é originário da Ásia, e no Brasil, ele é cultivado em diversas regiões. Ele é de clima tropical, perene e aromático. Ele contém em suas folhas cerca de 0,3 % de óleo essencial. Ele é empregado em perfumaria, na indústria de alimentos e na fabricação da vitamina A. Ele é também usado na medicina popular, no preparo de chá de folhas, que tem efeito calmante.
