CAPIM-SUDÃO
Planta da família Poaceae, da espécie Sorghum sudanense (Piper) Stapf.
Nota 1 e 2: Ele é originário do Egito e do Sudão. É a espécie da qual se originaram os atuais sorgos cultivados. Ele é anual e vegeta bem em solos em climas quentes e temperados, com pouca umidade. Ele é recomendado para atividades de pastejo (por ser resistente ao pisoteio) e para a produção de feno. Ele apresenta um principio tóxico chamada de durrina, que pode ser venenoso para os animais quando o capim está muito tenro, ou em se encontra em rebrota durante a seca.

Note 1 and 2: It is native of Egypt and Sudan. It is the species that originated the many current cultivated sorghums. It is annual and it vegetates well in soils in hot and temperate climates, with few moisture. It is appropriate for pasture activities (it is resistant to trampling) and for the hay production. It has a toxic principle called dhurrin that can be venomous to the animals when the plant is very tender or in regrowth during the drought.
