CAPULI
Arbusto da família Myrsynaceae, da espécie Ardisia manglillo (A. coriaceae Sw.; A. logistaminea A.C. Sm.; A. revoluta H.B.K e A. sápida Cuatr.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ele é encontrado em zonas quentes, notadamente na Ilha de Gorgonilla. Possui 5 m de altura, é profusamente ramoso; possuei folhas terminais, alternas, papiráceas, obovadas, de ápice triangular acuminado, pecíolo curto, ligeiramente alado; a inflorescência é terminal, paniculada, com flores de corola rosada, e 5 estames. Os frutos são globosos, com 1 cm de diâmetro, com uma polpa branca, pouco doce e rodeada por uma delgada epiderme roxo-escura; que abriga uma única semente de superfície lisa. O cálice é persistente e possui uma coloração roxo-escura nos bordos e glândulas resinosas. Os frutos são encontrados em cachos volumosos, que podem conter mais de 100 frutinhos.

Note 1 and 2: It is found in hot zones, especially in the Gorgonilla Island. It reaches up to 5 meters of height and it is profusely branchy; it has terminal, alternate and papyraceous leaves, which are obovate and have an acuminate and triangular apex; their petiole is short and slightly winged; the inflorescence is terminal and paniculate, with flowers whose corollas are pinky and with 5 stamens. The fruits are globular, with 1 cm of diameter and a white pulp, which is not very sweet and surrounds a seed whose superficie is smooth. The calyx is persistent e and has a dark-purple colouration in the edges, and resinous glands. The fruits are found in volumous clusters, which may contain more than a hundred little fruits.
