Cultivar de Vitis Vinifera proveniente do cruzamento Tokai x Ribier.
Nota 1 e 2: Foi introduzida no Brasil em 1966, ela é proveniente de Davies (Califórnia); ela é especialmente adaptada para regiões áridas. Essa videira possui grande vigor e é muito produtiva; possui folhagem abundante que protege os cachos contra e escaldadura causada pelo sol. Os cachos são médios-grandes, são mais compactos do que soltos, cônicos. As bagas são enormes, inicialmente de coloração vermelho-cereja, e durante a maturação, quase pretas, são redondas ou levemente ovaladas, deprimidas no ápice. As folhas adultas são grandes, cuneiformes, glabras inferiormente. O amadurecimento dos cachos começa em dezembro. Ela exige rigorosa defesa preventiva contra o oídio e combate à traça dos cachos.

Note 1 and 2: It was introduced in Brazil in 1966; it is from Davies (California); it is especially adapted to arid regions. This grape is vigorous and it is very productive; it has an abundnat foliage that protects the bunches from the scald, caused by the sun. The bunches are medium-big, they are more compact than loose, and conical. The berries are enormous, initially with a cherry-red colouration, and then, as they get ripe, an almost black colouration, they are round or slightly ovate, depressed in the apex. The adult leaves are large, cuneiform and inferiorly glabrous. The ripening starts in December. The vine demands a rigorous preventive defense against the oidium, and the honeydew moth.
