Trepadeira da família Cactaceae, da espécie Hylocereus triangularis Britt & Rose (Cactus triangularis L.; Cereus triangularis Haw.; Cereus compressus Mill.; C. tricostatus Gosselin; C. undatus Haw.; Hylocereus tricostatus Britt. & Rose; H. undatus Britt. & Rose). 

Nota 2: Possui caule radiante e aculeado, de seção triangular, articulado, com 30-40 cm de comprimento, 3-costados, às vezes 4-costados; aréolas com 3-5 acúleos pungentes, pretos. Flores laterais, noturnas, grandes, 25-30 cm de comprimento, solitárias e brancas; estames numerosos. Fruto baga vermelha, oblonga, 8-15 cm de comprimento, mamelonado, escamoso, inerme quando amadurece, de sabor agradabilíssimo e perfumado; sementes obovado-oblongas, pretas.

Note 2: It has a radiant and aculeate stem, with a triangular section, articulate, with 30-40 cm of length, with 3 (sometimes 4) sides; the areoles have 3-5 pungent and black hooklets. The flowers are lateral, nocturne and big, reaching until 25-30 cm of length, they are solitary and white; the stamens are numerous. The fruit is a red and oblong berry, 8-15 cm of length, it is rounded, squamous, unarmed when it ripens, with a sweet and very pleasant flavour, fragrant; the seeds are obovate-oblong and black.
