Carissa é um gênero de arbustos da família Apocynaceae. No Brasil, estão presentes as espécies C. carandas L. e C. grandiflora DC.
Nota 1 e 2: São nativos dos trópicos do hemisfério oriental. São muito ramificados e espinhentos, são cultivados por causa de seus frutos, que são semelhantes a bagas e comestíveis.

Note 1 and 2: They are native to the tropics of the eastern hemisphere. They are very branchy and thorny. They are cultivated mainly because of the fruits, which are similar to berries and edible.
