Árvore da família Bignoniaceae, da espécie Jacaranda puberula Cham.
Nota 1 e 2: Cresce do Rio de Janeiro ao Rio Grande do Sul, na mata pluvial da costa atlântica. A espécie é decídua e heliófita. Possui entre 4-7 m de altura e o diâmetro de seu tronco é 30-40 cm. As folhas são compostas, bipenadas, com 20-25 cm de comprimento; folíolos glabros, de 3-5 cm de comprimento. Fornece madeira moderamente pesada, mole, textura média, alburno e cerne indistintos, ela é empregada na construção civil em obras internas, como ripas e forros para carpintaria, miolo de painéis e portas, rodapés, guarnições, caixotaria. A planta também é ornamental, podendo ser plantada para paisagismo e arborização de ruas estreitas, e em reflorestamentos mistos para recomposição de áreas degradadas.

Note 1 and 2: It grows from Rio de Janeiro state to Rio Grande do Sul state, in the pluvial forest of the atlantic coast. The species is deciduous and heliophyte. It has 4-7 m of height and its trunk has 30-40 cm of diameter. The leaves are compound, bipinnate, with 20-25 cm of length; the leaflets are glabrous, with 3-5 cm of length. The tree provides a moderately heavy wood, loose, with a medium texture, the alburnum and the heartwood are indistinct; it is employed in construction, as wooden laths and linings for carpentry, door and panel cores, footers, trims and boxes. The plant is also ornamental; it can be employed in landscaping, in the arborization of narrow streets and in mixed reforestation for the recomposition of degraded areas.
