CARRAPATO
Árvore da família Myrtaceae, da espécie Myrrhinium atropurpureum Schott (M. loranthoides (Hook & Arn.) Bur.; Felicianea rubriflora Camb.; Myrrhinium rubriflorum Berg.; M. salacinium Gandolin; M. sarcopetalum Lam.; Tetrastemon loranthoides Hook & Arn.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela ocorre de Minas Gerais ao sul do Brasil e Uruguai. Ela possui 3-6 m de altura; folhas subsésseis, coriáceas, oblongo-lanceoladas ou oblongas, e agudas. As flores estão dispostas em cimeiras axilares púrpura-escuras; estames 4 muito longos; fruto baga oblonga, verde-purpúrea, coroada pelo cálice, contendo 1-4 sementes. As pétalas e os frutos são comestíveis.

Note 1 and 2: It grows from Minas Gerais state to the South of Brazil and Uruguay. It has 3-6 m of height; the leaves are subsessile, coriaceous, oblong-lanceolate or just oblong, and acute. The flowers are disposed in axillary and dark-purple summits; the stamens (4) are very long; the fruit is an oblong and green-purple berry, which is crowned by the calyx and contains 1-4 seeds. The petals and the fruits are edible.
