Nota 1 e 2: Cresce na restinga de toda a costa brasileira. É um pequeno vegetal que possui frutos cobertos por inúmeros espinhos. É indesejado nas proximidades da praia devido aos ferimentos que pode causar nos banhistas.

A creeping plant of the family Calyceraceae, of the species Acicarpha spathulata R. Br.
Note 1 and 2: It grows in regions of restinga all over the Brazilian coast. It is a small vegetable, which has fruits covered by innumerous thorns. It is undesirable nearby the beaches because it can hurt the bathers.
