ÁGUAPÉ-DE-CORDÃO
Planta daninha aquática da família Pontederiaceae, da espécie Eichhornia azurea (Swartz) Kunth.
Nota 1 e 2: Encontrada principalmente nos rios e pequenas lagoas da região do Pantanal mato-grossense e nos rios e igarapés amazônicos. Possui longos caules cprovidos de folhas semelhante a cordões que podem atingir 1-2 m de comprimento, de crescimento e vigor excepcionais, formando grandes ilhas flutuantes que pdoem ser usadas como embarcações. Considerada excelente forrageira.
An aquatic weed plant of the family Pontederiaceae of the species Eichhornia azurea (Swartz) Kunth.
Note 1 and 2: It is typically found in rivers and small ponds in the region of Pantanal of Mato-Grosso state. It has long stems with leaves that are arranged in the shape of a cord. It can reach 1-2 meters of height, and due to its high development vigor, it can form large floating islands on the rivers and used as means of transportation in the water. It is considered an excellent foraging plant.
