Planta daninha aquática da família Chorellaceae, do gênero Chorella.
Nota 2: Constituída de uma alga planctônica, microscópica, formada de uma única célula clorifilada (verde), contento um cloroplasto de forma alongada que preenche a maior parte da célula.Sua nome popular deriva da cor verde que confere á água que infesta, na qual vive em suspensão, na camada superior do manancial.

An aquatic weed of the family Chorellaceae, of the genus Chorella.
Note 2: It is composed of a microscopic planctonic alga formed by a unique clorifilated cell that has an alongated chloroplast occupying most of the cell. Its vulgar name comes from the green color that it gives to the infested water. It lives in suspension on the top of the water spring.
