Árvore frutífera da família Myrtaceae, da espécie Hexachlamys anomala Legrand (Eugenia anomala Legrand; Eugenia myrcianthes Niedenzu var. nana Legrand).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela vegeta modestamente nos terrenos pedregosos do Uruguai e arenosos do Rio Grande do Sul, mas também nos cerrados pobres de São Paulo (Mojiguaçu). Ela tem porte insignificante, mal ultrapassando altura de 20-30 cm, sempre habitando os campos, jamais a mata. Não são incomuns exemplares de 18 cm, vergados ao peso de três frutos grandes com até 8 cm de comprimento. As flores brancas e profusas tornam a planta ornamental e seus frutos que amadurecem em dezembro/janeiro são comestíveis, embora ácidos e poucos apetitosos.

Note 1 and 2: It grows lowly in stony soils in Uruguay e sandy ones in Rio Grande do Sul state, but also in low cerrados in São Paulo state (Mojiguaçu city). It hardly exceeds the height of 20-30 cm, always inhabiting the fields, never the woodlands. Specimens with 18 cm are very common, bended because of the three big fruits with until 8 cm long. The white and plenty flowers make it ornamental and its fruits that ripen in December/January are edible, though acid and little tasty.
