Denominação vulgar da árvore da família Oleaceae, das espécies Ligustrum japonicum Thumb., Ligustrum ovalifolium Hassk., e Ligustrum sinense Lour.
Nota 2: A primeira é a maior das três espécies, muito empregada para arborização de ruas, embora desaconselhável pela formação de raízes superficiais, as demais prestam-se, principalmente, à constituição de sebes.

Note 2: The first one is the biggest of the three species, used very much for street arborization, however it is not very recommended because of its superficial root formation. The others are used mainly for fence constitution.Vulgarization: privet.
