Nota 1 e 2: Nativa da Índia, ocorrendo subespontâneo no Nordeste brasileiro, para onde foi trazida há séculos. Perene, de até 5 m de altura. As sementes têm pêlos unicelulares muito semelhantes à seda.

Note 1 and 2: It is native of India, ocurring subspontaneously in the northeast region of Brazil, to where it was brought many centuries ago.It is perennial and can reach until 5 m of height.The seeds have unicelular hair very similar to silk.
