Trepadeira da família Cucurbitaceae, da espécie Telfairia pedata Hook.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela ocorre em Moçambique. Pode atingir mais de 10 m de altura. O fruto é como uma abóbora ou pepino gigantesco, oblongo, acanelado, podendo pesar de 5 a 10 kg, ele encerra centenas de sementes achatadas, arredondadas e envoltas de fibras. Estas sementes, cruas ou assadas, constituem um importante elemento na alimentação dos nativos. Além disso, são oleosas e fornecem óleo semelhante ao de oliva. Os frutos podem ser usados em sopas.

Note 1 and 2: It occurs in Mozambique. It can reach more than 10 m of height. The fruit is similar to a pumpkin or to a giant concomber; it is oblong, ribbed, weighing between 5 and 10 kg; it shelters hundreds of flattened and rounded seeds, which are covered by fibers. These seeds can be consumed raw or roasted, and they are an important element in the feeding of the native people. Furthermore, the they are oily and provide an oil similar to the olive one. The fruits can be used in soups.
