Plantas da família Lecythidaceae, dos gêneros Cariniana e Couratari, das espécies Couratari tenuicarpa A.C Mith, Couratari tauary Berg, Cariniana decandra Ducke e Cariniana integrifolia Ducke.
Nota 1 e 2: Todas possuem um pixídio cilíndrico-cônico. As espécies do primeiro gênero não possuem importância para a fruticultura. As espécies do segundo gênero são árvores grandes, de ramos lenticelosos, comuns em mata de terra firme de solo úmido, elas possuem sementes aladas e são importantes por causa de sua madeira.

Note 1 and 2: They all have a cilyndrical-conical pyxis. The species of the first genus are not important for fruit. The species of the second genus are tall trees, with lenticels, common in mainland of humid soil; they have wingy seeds and their importance is due to the wood production.
