Objective
Provide the student knowledge and mastery of techniques most commonly used in experimentation in
Plant Pathology.

Content
Techniques for sterilization of instruments and materials used in the laboratory, preparation and use of
culture media, isolation of pathogens, production and quantification of inoculum, inoculation methods of
pathogens and disease assessment, maintenance of fungal and bacterial cultures, understanding of
statistical designs, use of serological and molecular techniques for disease diagnosis.
