Objective
To address the basic knowledge for the production of seeds of plant species, especially that of plants cultivated for the production of food and fibers, but also considering those of ornamental, aromatic and medicinal plants.

Content
General aspects of the commercial seed market. National System of Seeds and Seedlings. Angiosperm seed formation. Seed morphology. Germination and dormancy. Seed production: Implementation of the area for seed production; Special techniques for seed production; Production supervision; Ripening and harvesting; Processing: separation bases; Seed treatment; Storage. Seed analysis. Quality control. Relations between Research and Extension related to the themes presented. Technical visits to companies related to seed production, machinery, application of products in seeds and technical innovations associated with the theme.
