Planta herbácea da família Umbelliferae (segundo Cronquist, família Apiaceae), da espécie Hydrocotyle umbellata L.
Nota 2: Rasteira de beira d’água e dicotiledônea. As raízes são utilizadas como diurético, desobstruente do fígado e dos rins, aperitivo, anti-reumático, anti-hidrópico, emético em doses mínimas, cujas folhas são muito tóxicas.

Note 2: It is creeping close to the water, dicotyledonous. Thes roots are used as diuretic, liver and kidney deoppilative, antirheumatic, antihydropic, emetic in small doses. The leaves are very toxic.
