Arbusto da família Myrtaceae, da espécie Psidium cattleyanum Sabine.
Nota 1 e 2: Ocorre em todo o Brasil, mas principalmente de Minas Gerais ao Rio Grande do Sul, onde mostra-se muito mais desenvolvido; Em situações favoráveis chega a arvoreta, medindo entre 2,5 a 7 m de altura; frutos bagas amarelas ou avermelhadas; Polpa de coloração igualmente variável, de branca a arroxeada, comestível, acidulada, aromática e saborosa.
A shrub of the family Myrtaceae, of the species Psidium cattleyanum Sabine.
Note 1 and 2: It occurs in all Brazil, especially in the states of Minas Gerais until Rio Grande do Sul, where it is better developed; in propitious situations can be a small tree, reaching between 2.5 and 7 m of height; Its berry fruit is yellow or red; Its pulp has an equally variable color, white or purple, and it is edible, acidulated, aromatic and tasty.
