Árvore da família Leguminosae-Mimosoidae, da espécie Pithecolobium sanguineum Bth Inga sanguinea Burch.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela vegeta de preferência na Serra do Mar, São Paulo e Paraná; Seu caule é reto, alto e inerme; Suas folhas são bipenadas, compostas de 5-7 folíolos opostos, coriáceos, luzidios; Fornece madeira elástica e dura, própria para construção civil, engenhos e carroçarias.

Note 1 and 2: It vegetates better in Serra do Mar, São Paulo and Paraná; Its stem is straight, high and unarmed; Its leaves are bipennate, composed of 5-7 opposite, leather-like and silky leaflets; Its wood is elastic and hard, and it is used for civil construction as well as for vehicle trucks and stakes.
