Objetivo
Esta é uma disciplina de métodos e técnicas de pesquisa, visando ampliar as habilidades dos estudantes para propor questões de pesquisa e investigar a realidade de modo sistemático, aprofundando sua compreensão dos princípios que regem o conhecimento científico. Abordagens quantitativas e qualitativas serão trabalhadas, explicitando sua aplicabilidade em diferentes contextos. A disciplina vai explorar alguns dos principais métodos e técnicas de investigação disponíveis. Ao final da disciplina os estudantes deverão ter consciência teórica sobre os fundamentos da investigação científica e ser capazes de empregar os métodos e técnicas de investigação abordados pela disciplina.

Conteúdo
Origens do conhecimento científico. Ciência e outras formas de conhecimento.
Designs de Pesquisa. Investigação exploratória, descritiva, explanatória e crítica. Pesquisa fundamental e aplicada. Pesquisa disciplinar e interdisciplinar. Estudos transversais e longitudinais. Conceitos, variáveis e hipóteses. Temas e questões de pesquisa. Revisão da literatura. Amostragem e tipos de amostragem.
Relações entre Teoria e Pesquisa: indução e dedução
Pesquisas quantitativas. Medidas, conceitualização e operacionalização. Confiabilidade. Experimentos: testando hipóteses. Questionários e entrevistas estruturadas. Análise de conteúdo. Surveys. Uso de bancos de dados disponíveis. Data mining. Softwares estatísticos. Estatísitca tradicional e robusta.
Inteligência artificial: machine learning (supervisionado e não supervisionado) e deep learning. Ciência de Dados.
Pesquisas qualitativas. Entrevistas semiestruturadas. Entrevistas abertas. Grupos focais. Técnicas de observação. Etnografia e diário de campo. Análise de discurso.
Pesquisas mistas: quanti-qualitativas.
